About the speaker:

David Del Vecchio joined the MOX project in August 2011, bringing 27 years of management experience with large-scale nuclear projects.

Prior to MOX Services, Mr. Del Vecchio served as Vice President and Project Manager of the Plutonium Finishing Plant decommissioning and demolition project at the Hanford Site in Richland, Washington. His leadership in the $650 million project was to direct the deactivation, decontamination, decommissioning, and demolition of 232 highly contaminated glove-boxes, miles of process piping and duct as well as 60 buildings that included radioactive and hazardous materials.

From 1999 to 2009, Mr. Del Vecchio served as Vice President and Project Manager of multiple facility decommissioning and demolition projects directing the safe and accelerated closure of the 100K Area Closure Project at the Hanford Site in Richland, Washington, the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant in Portsmouth, Ohio, and Buildings 371, 707, 776, and 777 at the Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site in Golden, Colorado, part of a $7 billion project involving more than 6,500 personnel.

Prior to 1999, Mr. Del Vecchio managed Nuclear Operations at multiple facilities at Rocky Flats, as well as HB-Line and H-Canyon at the Savannah River Site. He also held positions in supervision and as an engineer across the Savannah River Site during this time.

Mr. Del Vecchio earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana, and an MBA from Augusta State University in Augusta, Georgia. He is also a certified Project Management Professional through the Project Management Institute (PMI).
