2023 and 2024 NED 2nd Vice Chair Election Results

The Nuclear Engineering Division of the AIChE is excited to announce the results of the recent election for the 2023 NED 2nd Vice Chair position. This year’s election resulted in an unprecedented tie in which the voting results for our two exceptional leadership candidates received equal votes! As a result, it was determined that Dr. Jennifer Ladd-Lively from Oak Ridge National Laboratory will assume the roles and responsibilities of the NED 2nd Vice Chair for 2023 and Mr. Rick Shimskey from Pacific Northwest National Laboratory will assume the roles and responsibilities of the NED 2nd Vice Chair starting in 2024.  

 Again, Dr. Jennifer Ladd-Lively will join the current Vice Chair Dr. Valmor de Almeida of University of Massachusetts Lowell and Chair Dr. Courtney Bottenus of Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. In 2024 Dr. Valmor de Almeida will assume the role and responsibilities of Chair, Dr. Jennifer Ladd-Lively will move into the Vice Chair position, and Mr. Rick Shimskey will start his term as 2nd Vice Chair.
