NSEF Executive Committee Nominations - Due by 12/15/2020

Dear NSEF Members,

 

This year AIChE’s Nanoscale Science and Engineering Forum (NSEF) will be electing and appointing new positions to our Executive Committee. As a result, we are accepting nominations for positions for the Executive Committee for the 2020-2022 term. Self-nominations will be accepted and are encouraged, especially from individuals from diverse backgrounds. In your nomination email, please include the candidate’s name, biography, and photo as a Word document. This file can be emailed directly to the NSEF Secretary-Treasurer, Nigel Reuel at reuel@iastate.edu. Nominations are due by December 15th, 2020.

 

Elected positions include Vice Chair, Secretary-Treasurer, and 2 At-Large Members. These positions are two-year commitments (except for the Vice Chair). Please see more information on the positions below.

 

Vice Chair Responsibilities: Formulate and implement long-term plans and strategic activities for the Forum; Lead fundraising activities for the Forum; Implement projects in coordination with the Chair; Serve as Forum liaison to the Institute; Coordinate and implement the Forum reception and awards ceremony at the Institute’s Annual Meeting.

 

Secretary-Treasurer Responsibilities: Keep records of the proceedings of the Forum; Handle the general correspondence of the Forum, and shall, at the direction of the Chair, issue all notices of all meetings; Handle and record the collection and disbursement of funds as authorized by the Executive Committee of the Forum; Coordinate, with Headquarters, the preparation, electronic mailing, and tallying of annual election ballots; Submit a report covering the finances and activities of the Forum at the end of each year to the Executive Committee of the Forum and the Secretary of the Institute; Prepare a proposed budget for the upcoming year, for review and approval by the Executive Committee; Prepare the NSEF Newsletter, to be issued at least twice a year.

 

At-Large Executive Committee Members: Responsibilities include providing guidance and supporting activities of the Forum.

 

Chair Responsibilities: Develop the Forum in accordance with the Forum Objectives; Provide leadership and management for the Forum; Serve as the presiding officer for all Forum and Executive Committee meetings; Appoint task forces for special projects as needed; Coordinate activities through the leadership of the Executive Committee; Coordinate activities of the Liaison Directors.

 

Past-Chair Responsibility: Chair the Awards Committee.
