Dear NSEF Members,
The Executive Committee of AIChE’s Nanoscale Science and Engineering Forum (NSEF) has recently updated the forum’s by-laws with the following changes:
- Article 1 (Name and Objectives): Update of objectives to include more specific language about nanotechnology.
- Article 2 (Membership): Definition of Professional and Student members of the forum and their respective voting rights in the Forum.
- Article 3 (Organization): Updated language regarding the Forum Operating Procedures; addition of Young Professional, Postdoctoral, and Student Liaisons and their duties; addition of staff member from the Institute as an ex officio Executive Committee member of the Forum; addition of duties to Vice chair position.
- Article 4 (Meetings): Updated language that votes will be cast electronically.
- Article 5 (Elections): Updated language on election information moved to the Forum Operating Procedures.
- Article 6 (Dues and Finances): Updated language that only Professional members will pay dues to the Forum.
- Article 7 (General Provisions): Addition of review of Forum By-laws every two years.
