Radhakrishna Tumbalam Gooty is a Senior Research Engineer at KeyLogic Systems, and works with the Process Systems Engineering Research Team at the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). He received his PhD from Purdue University (Advisers: Prof. Rakesh Agrawal and Prof. Mohit Tawarmalani). Prior to that, he received B. Tech. (Honors) and M. Tech. (Advisor: Prof. S. Pushpavanam) in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. His current research interests include application of mixed integer programming techniques and global optimization methods for various applications arising in energy and power systems; including power cycles integrated with flexible capture systems, energy storage, and co-production systems. He is a co-author of IDAES grid integration tools (https://github.com/IDAES/idaes-pse/tree/main/idaes/apps/grid_integration) and PRIMO – A flexible well plugging and abandonment optimizer (https://github.com/NEMRI-org/primo-optimizer). He received the AIChE CAST Division’s W. David Smith Jr. Graduate Student Paper Award for his work titled “Advances in MINLP to Identify Energy-efficient Distillation Configurations.” 2022.
