Dr. Yi He received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering in 2000 and a Master of Engineering degree in Biochemical Engineering in 2003, both from Zhejiang University. He entered the Ph.D. program at the University of Washington in Seattle in 2003. He earned a Master of Science degree in 2007 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 2008 at the University of Washington, both in Chemical Engineering.
