Wilton Bryan Williams, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Sciences, and primary member of the Duke Human Vaccine Institute, in Duke University School of Medicine. Dr. Williams also has a secondary appointment in the Department of Immunology. Dr. Williams holds multiple leadership positions in the DHVI, including Director for the Viral Genetics and Analysis Core Facility and Co-Director for the Training and Mentoring Program. 

Dr. Williams studied HIV pathogenesis in graduate school at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, USA, and pursued postdoctoral studies in HIV Immunobiology and Vaccine Development at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, USA. He later joined the faculty at Duke University following his postdoctoral studies and is now an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery where his research focuses on B cell repertoire analyses in humans, and neonate and adult rhesus macaques.
