William Tarpeh

Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering
Stanford University

William Tarpeh is an assistant professor of chemical engineering at Stanford University.  The Tarpeh Lab develops and evaluates novel approaches to resource recovery from “waste” waters at several synergistic scales: molecular mechanisms of chemical transport and transformation; novel unit processes that increase resource efficiency; and systems-level assessments that identify optimization opportunities. William completed his B.S. in chemical engineering from Stanford, M.S. and Ph.D. in environmental engineering from UC Berkeley, and postdoctoral training in environmental engineering at University of Michigan.  As a faculty member, Will’s recent honors include the Forbes' "30 Under 30" 2019 Science List, National Academies Gulf Research Early Career Fellowship, and Chemical and Engineering News' Talented 12.
