Travis Armiger graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 2013. Travis then went on to receive his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2018. He was a member of the Dahl research group where his work focused on cellular biomechanics and how physical forces and the physical environment impact the way that cells behave. After his time at Carnegie Mellon, Travis moved into his current role as a Senior Scientist at Merck in the Chemical Engineering Research and Development group. At Merck his work is focused on process development and scale-up of small molecule active pharmaceutical ingredients. His role has included a year-long rotation as an operations engineer at the Small Scale Organics Pilot Plant in Rahway, New Jersey which focused the scale up and batch execution of processes for multiple programs.
