Tomohisa Hasunuma is the Director of Engineering Biology Research Center, and concurrently serves as the Professor of Graduate School of Science, Technology and Innovation at Kobe University, Japan. He received his B.Sc., M.Sc. and PhD in the Department of Biotechnology at Osaka University, Japan. He is the author or co-author of over 140 peer-reviewed journal papers and 50 reviews and book chapters. His research interests in metabolic engineering, engineering biology of prokaryotes, yeast and microalgae based on metabolism analysis. He was awarded the Fermentation and Metabolism Research Prize of Japan Bioindustry Association in 2013 and the Biotechnology Encouragement Prize of Biotechnology Society of Japan in 2014.
