Thomas J. Walsh earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y.
Tom worked for LyondellBasell and its predecessor companies for 32 years, beginning as a process engineer with ARCO Chemical Company in Philadelphia, PA. He has held leadership positions in engineering, production, operations planning, project and supply chain management. Tom was based both in the United States and overseas, including 14 years on assignments in France, Great Britain and The Netherlands. Tom served as Vice President, Engineering for LyondellBasell Industries’ North America operations prior to joining Honeywell International in 2011.
Tom’s initial role with Honeywell was as Vice President, Engineering for the company’s Performance Materials and Technologies (PMT) business during a period of unprecedented growth. He also served as Vice President for PMT’s Health, Safety, Environment and Product Stewardship function from 2014 to 2016. Tom is currently serving as Vice President, Maintenance Excellence for PMT.
Tom has been a member of the CCPS Advisory Board since 2014. He has been co-leader of the Academy’s Process Safety Curriculum Team since 2014 and joined the AIChE Continuing Education Committee as Academy Working Group Chair in 2016.
Tom and his wife, Trish, live in Mendham, NJ. They have 3 grown children.
