Sumedh P. Surwade is the Founder and CEO of SAS Nanotechnologies. His expertise are in R&D and commercialization of specialty materials. He received his MS (2007) in Chemistry from the University of Texas at Dallas and Ph.D. (2010) in Polymer Science from University of Massachusetts Lowell. After his postdoctoral research at University of Pittsburgh (2012) and Oak Ridge National Lab (2014), he joined Fujifilm (2015) in New Castle, DE as a R&D Chemist. After gaining industrial experience at Fujifilm, he founded SAS Nanotechnologies and since then leading efforts to develop and commercialize self-healing anticorrosive coatings. He has published a book chapter, 4 patents and more than 30 research articles in reputed international journals. He is also the recipient of prestigious R&D 100 award and UT Battelle Oak Ridge National Lab top research team award.
