Stephen Sarria is the Process Development Lead in Manus Bio, Augusta where he leads the development of upstream and downstream processes for the production of natural products. He earned his B.Sc. in Biology and Chemistry from Southern Polytechnic State University and then went on to earn his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Georgia Institute of Technology, with a focus in strain and enzyme engineering for biofuel production. He has over 10 yrs of experience in academia and industry in metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, and biotechnology, is an inventor on several issued and pending patent families and has published work in several journals, including Nature and ACS.
