Robert W. Ormsby, PE, joined CCPS Staff in 2003 after spending more than 27 years with Air Products and Chemicals, Inc in process safety related functions. During that time, Bob managed the Corporate Process Safety Group; conducted major incident investigations; developed corporate process safety standards and guidelines; developed and taught process training courses; and, conducted major hazard studies worldwide. During six years of those years, he served as Manager of Safety for the Chemicals Group and developed both operating group safety policies and standards and conducted audits. Bob retired from Air Products as Global Manager, Process Safety North America. Bob has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Penn State University and an MS from Lehigh University. He is a fellow of both AIChE and CCPS and a Professional Engineer licensed in Pennsylvania.
