He is a pioneer in human and organizational performance and all aspects of operational excellence, including incorporating the understanding of personality diversity into risk management. He brings an integration mentality to consulting, along with a globally recognized capability to make the science of errors practically applicable. He has been involved in developing multiple international industry standards for human and organizational performance, incident analysis, and procedures. Fisher is a sought-after executive mentor, coach, and trainer, and is routinely invited to speak both locally and internationally. He is the author of a best-selling book on error reduction entitled Understanding Mental Models and the host of the popular “Essential Leadership Cycle Podcast.” He has authored or coauthored over 20 papers on the impact of understanding how humans and organizations succeed and fail. He mentors CEOs, board members, and other executives in intentional leadership. He and his organization have deployed human error reduction and the practical application of operational excellence in over 400 organizations, 40 countries, and 23 languages. Fisher majored in chemistry at Southwest Texas State Univ., nuclear engineering at the Univ. of Maryland Univ. College, and organizational effectiveness at the Univ. of Phoenix.
