Professor Rich Noble is the Alfred T and Betty E Professor of Chemical Engineering and Co-Director of the NSF Membrane Applied Science and Technology (MAST) Center at the University of Colorado at Boulder.  He is an internationally recognized leader in the use of novel membrane and thin-film materials, including zeolites, ionic liquids and liquid crystal materials for chemical separations. 

He has received several awards including the CU Inventor of the Year Award (2008), the AIChE Institute Excellence in Industrial Gas Technology Award (2010), the AIChE Separations Division Clarence G. Gerhold Award (2011), and the Chair d”Excellence Pierre de Fermat, Paul Sabatier University, Toulouse, France for the 2010-11 academic year.  He also received the AIChE Institute Service to Society award (2005). He currently has over 78 patents/patent applications, more than 305 research publications, and 11 textbooks and monographs.
