Rémi Lasserre is researcher at the “Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale” in France, working in the Center of Immunology of Marseille Luminy (Ciml). He obtained his PhD from Aix-Marseille University (AMU), in Immunology. During his thesis work in the Dr. He’s lab, he used advanced microscopy and spectroscopy approaches to decipher the molecular dynamics at the plasma membrane of T lymphocytes and understand the role of membrane organization in phosphoinositides signaling. Then, he completed a post-doc in the Dr Alcover’s team at the institute Pasteur of Paris, where he studied the molecular and cytoskeleton dynamics at the immunological synapse between T lymphocytes and antigen presenting cells. He obtained a permanent position at the Ciml, where his main research interest is to understand the molecular mechanism involved in T cell activation and differentiation. He recently used optogenetic technologies to develop recombinant T Cell Receptor agonist that provide accurate spatiotemporal control of T cell stimulation, as well as a novel capacity to manipulate their function.
