Pratik is a Ph.D. candidate in the chemical engineering department at Michigan Technological University. He received his bachelor’s degree in Petrochemical Engineering at the University of Pune, India. His research domain focusses on developing innovative processes for vaccine and biotherapeutic manufacturing. His work has found applications in viral purification, inactivation, and surface characterization for bioprocessing and biomedical technologies. His early research work on the virus purification framework in the aqueous two-phase systems was recognized as the best paper in the Rapid Development and Implementation of Bioseparations session of AIChE National Meeting, MN, in 2017. He has also been presented with the 2020 AIChE Separation Division Graduate Student Research Award, recognizing outstanding graduate students in the areas of distillation and adsorption; crystallization and evaporation; extraction; membrane-based separations; adsorption and ion exchange; fluid-particle separations; and Bioseparations.
