Dr. Poupak Mehrani is an Associate Professor at the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department of the University of Ottawa (Ottawa, ON, Canada). Professor Mehrani research interest is in the area of multiphase reactor engineering with focus on fluidization processes. One of her main areas of research is focused on understanding the electrostatic charge generation resulting in particle agglomeration and fouling in gas-solid processes including gas-solid fluidized beds reactors. Other research projects include biomass gasification and fast pyrolysis in fluidized bed reactors, and pre- and post-combustion CO2 capture by using composite pellets.
