Omar Naeem, born in Pakistan in 1980, is a Chemical Process Engineer by profession. He achieved a degree in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Engineering & Technology in Lahore, Pakistan. To achieve further insight to the chemical processes, he traveled to Germany. He attained a MSc. Process Engineering degree from Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg, Germany in December 2005. He moved to Delft Center for Systems & Control, Technical University of Delft, the Netherlands to do the research in the field of process engineering. The major topic of his research has been modeling, dynamic simulation and nonlinear model reduction of large scale complex chemical processes using block structure. Satisfactory results have been achieved for the high purity distillation column as far as approximation accuracy and computational time are concerned.
