Olivier Baldan is Head of Section for Safety Risk Norway within DNV (Email: olivier.baldan@dnv.com). He is responsible for a team that delivers services including quantitative risk analysis (QRA), qualitative risk analysis (e.g., HAZID, HAZOP, etc.), advanced simulation modeling, and human factors and barrier management in the oil and gas industry. In addition, his team provides safety services for other markets such as alternative fuels for the maritime industry and battery technology. Baldan graduated as a chemical engineer in 2008 from the Univ. of Liege, Belgium, and has more than 10 years of experience with DNV. He has written several papers published in both risk assessment and process safety management for the oil and gas industry
