Dr. Lavon is an expert with 20 years of experience in stem cell applications in biotechnology, specializing in the commercialization of emerging technologies for industrial utilization. Prior to Aleph Farms, she was COO of the biotech company Kadimastem, where she developed cell therapy products for ALS and diabetes patients. Previously, she worked as a researcher at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles where she established 25 novel pluripotent stem cell lines. Dr. Lavon holds a PhD in Genetics, an M.Sc. in Biotechnology and a B.Sc. in Food Sciences from the Hebrew University in Israel. In 2017 upon Aleph Farms establishment. Dr. Lavon joined the company as the VP of R&D, to lead the technological strategy of the company. Today Neta is the company’s Chief Technology Officer, overseeing research and development and scale-up of technology platforms towards production of various products from animal cell cultures. Aleph Farms grows beef steaks from non-genetically engineered cells isolated from a cow, without slaughter. Aleph Farms released the world’s first cultivated steak in December 2018 and the world’s first cultivated ribeye steak in 2021. The company’s vision is to provide unconditional nutrition for anyone, anytime, anywhere.
