Mohd Yasin A Bakar has a total of 24 years of experience in oil and gas projects in upstream and downstream activities particularly in Project Management field. He has held various positions as Project Manager, Project Services Manager, QA/QC Manager and QA/QC Engineer.
Current position is as a Project Manager for Marlin Project which is a Brownfield project inside the Petronas LNG Complex to produce additional 0.5 mtpa of LNG through reliquifaction of Boil of Gas from the seven LNG tanks and ship loading.
Previous position was as a Project Service Manager for Train 9 project, the shortest duration (33 months) for an EPCC LNG train project of a 3.6 mtpa capacity in the world to date. He has also had a short duration assignment for Gladstone LNG project stationed at EPCC contractor office in Houston, USA.
His most challenging project was as a Project Manager for MLNG Dua Debottlenecking Project (MDD) in Bintulu, Sarawak. MDD Project, a brownfield project, was executed on an EPCM mode to produce additional 1.2 mtpa of LNG for MLNG Dua Sdn Bhd. The project was completed in 2010 and subsequently contributed to Petronas LNG Complex highest cargo delivery in history of 422 BCe in 2013. The other challenging experience was on the MLNG Revamp and Rejuvenation (MRR) Project which was completed in 2005 and MLNG Tiga Project in 2001.
Earlier, he was involved in Fabrication of Jacket and Topside for offshore platform for Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd.
Mohd Yasin holds a Bachelor of Science - Mechanical Engineering from University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA.
