Matthew W. Liberatore, PhD, is a professor in the Dept. of Chemical Engineering at the Univ. of Toledo. He earned a BS from the Univ. of Illinois Chicago and MS and PhD degrees from the Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, all in chemical engineering. His laboratory research involves unique rheology measurements of complex fluids. His educational research investigates problem solving related to YouTube problems and the learning analytics of interactive textbooks. His Material and Energy Balances, Spreadsheets, and Thermodynamics interactive textbooks are available from zyBooks — a Wiley brand. He served as Chair of the AIChE Education Div. in 2018 and 2019.
