
Luuk Ament has built a diverse career in the fledgling quantum computing industry at the intersection of science, technology, and business strategy. As program director at IBM Quantum, he is responsible for the success of strategic alliances in EMEA. Previously, Luuk was employee #2 in IBM Quantum’s product management team. He was also deeply involved in IBM Quantum’s business strategy while at the Corporate Strategy group of IBM, where he worked directly with IBM’s top executives. Before joining IBM, Luuk was at ASML, a semiconductor equipment manufacturer, where he helped design a free-electron laser for chip fabrication and led the strategic research group. Luuk has also worked at McKinsey & Company as a consultant. Luuk holds a PhD in theoretical physics from Leiden University, the Netherlands.
