Dr. Li Zhang is a Group Leader of BioMaterials at Ashland Specialty Ingredients. She leads the R&D program for developing and commercializing sustainable and multifunctional natural ingredients using proprietary Zeta Fraction™ Technology (ZFT). She strives to develop Zeta Fraction™ bioactives that are scientifically proven to provide safe and superior benefits across various functional applications, which are currently used in numerous cosmetics and consumer products globally.
Previous experience includes over 13 years at Johnson and Johnson Consumer Product and Personal Care Co. for developing both consumer and pharmaceutical products, following by joining AkzoNobel in 2012, later becoming Ashland in 2015 through acquisition of ZFT.
With a Ph.D. in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology, Li has over 40 peer-reviewed scientific papers, book chapters, abstracts, patents, and patent applications. She is a member of several scientific and medical societies, and an invited speaker at both national and international conferences. She has also received awards for her scientific and leadership achievements.
