Lauren currently serves as the Chief of Staff at Black Women in Science and Engineering (BWISE) as a fellow. She previously worked at AbbVie as a process development scientist in one of their Co-op programs. There she spearheaded validation studies and worked on one of AbbVie’s new popular drugs, Skyrizi.
She previously worked for a local nonprofit as a Program Manager teaching grade school students about STEM. She also mentored high school and college students under the nonprofit.
She hopes to inspire other young black women to be bold and take a chance in the hopes of “leveling-up” in their STEM careers.
Lauren received her bachelors in Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in Biological Sciences and Neuroscience at the University of North Texas (UNT). She continued her education at UNT and received her masters in biomed in December 2022.
