Laura Acevedo Turci is the Advanced Process Safety Specialist for 3M corporate EHS.
She has expertise in technical Process Safety engineering and Process Safety Management, including PHA LOPA, Combustible Dust Management, Process Safety Metrics, Consequence Modeling, Facility Siting, Global Auditing, MOC, Incident Investigation, and leading improvements Process Safety Management Systems and Tools.
Her previous roles include working as a Senior Process Safety Engineer, corporate EHS at Ashland, she was the Latin American Regional Manager for the Center for Chemical Process Safety, CCPS, AIChE and was an Associate Professor at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, teaching Chemical Process Safety. Prior to that Mrs. Turci specialized in chemical process safety working for Sanofi-Aventis, gaining expertise in Thermal Hazard Analysis and Reaction Engineering for the pharmaceutical industry. She contributed to technology and process safety assessments of all new processes entering the Pilot Plant including hazard identification, reaction engineering and calorimetric studies. She worked in Research & Development roles for Pfizer Consumer Healthcare in Morris Plains, in manufacturing roles for L’Oreal in Clark, and in the food industry in Argentina.
She is a Director of the Safety and Health Division AIChE.
She obtained a Bachelors and Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Tecnologica Nacional, Argentina.
She is married and has two teenager kids.
