Dr. Keith Silverman is vice president of Environment, Health, Safety (EHS), Quality and Operations at Ashland LLC. Keith joined Ashland in June 2012 as vice president of EHS and product regulatory. In February 2014, his role was expanded to include quality and product safety and more recently he has assumed additional management responsibility for manufacturing operations. Prior to joining Ashland, he spent twenty-three years in the pharmaceutical industry with Merck & Co., Inc. in a series of roles spanning research and development to EHS. Keith is also an experienced emergency responder and has provided incident management and hazardous materials training around the globe.
Dr. Silverman serves as the chair of the National TransCAER® Task Group, is on the Board of the Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA), and is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs Hazardous Materials Committee.
Keith earned his Ph.D. in environmental health science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and Rutgers University, a Masters of Public Health (MPH) degree in occupational and environmental health from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and a Bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Rutgers University.
