Joselito Ignacio

Joselito Ignacio, a U.S. Public Health Service Officer, is currently the chemical, biological, radiological/nuclear science advisor at the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). He has served as the program manager for FEMA’s Interagency Modeling and Atmospheric Assessment Center (IMAAC) and the deputy program director for chemical defense at DHS’s Office of Health Affairs (OHA). Ignacio was detailed to the U.S. Coast Guard as an environmental health and industrial hygiene officer at the former Coast Guard Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific (MLCPAC) and at Coast Guard Headquarters. He served in the U.S. Army from 1992 through 2000 as an environmental science officer in the Medical Service Corps. He has an MA in security studies from the Naval Postgraduate School, a Master’s in Public Health from the Univ. of California at Los Angelas (UCLA), and a BS in microbiology with a minor in chemistry from California State Polytechnic Univ. Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona). Ignacio is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS).
