Jerome TAVEAU is a process safety engineer specialized in fire and explosion risk assessment and modelling. He has previously worked for French military applications and for the European spaceport in Kourou, French Guyana (Ariane 5 launcher). He has joined IRSN in 2006 to conduct peer reviews of safety reports carried out by industrial companies (LPG depots, chemical facilities, etc.). He has recently joined the Fire and Explosion Study and Assessment Section to conduct fire and explosion studies. So he is currently involved in several projects, such as: • a French research project on thermal radiation from warehouse fires called “FLUMILOG”; • a benchmark for OECD about hydrogen deflagration modelling (using FLACS); • the FLACS Joint Industry Project. He is also involved in two international standardization working groups: o ISO TC92 SC4 “Fire safety engineering”; o CEN TC 305 “Potentially explosive atmospheres”.
