Jake Malooley is an associate with Argonne National Laboratory’s Communications and Public Affairs Division, where he has lately focused on documenting the lab’s research and development efforts in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. His writing has been published in The New York Times, New York magazine, WIRED, ESPN, Rolling Stone, and Esquire, among other publications. Malooley was previously the Editor-in-Chief of the Chicago Reader, the city’s venerable alternative weekly newspaper, and a senior editor at Time Out magazine. He holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from DePaul Univ.
