Ian Ronningen is a Senior Scientist at Impossible Foods, focusing on analytical, perception, and informatics to better understand food flavor.  Graduating with his PhD from the University of Minneosta, he studied untargeted methods for flavor discovery illustrating utility in novel meta analysis techniques and showing causation through purification and recombination of statistically identified compounds.  This work led to discovery of novel flavor material influencing freshness perception in Oranges.  His current work at Impossible Foods includes flavor generation, off-flavor mitigation, methods and tools for sensory and analytical chemistry analysis.
