I started my chemical engineering career by attending the University of Cincinnati where I graduated with a B.S. in 1999. I then attended Auburn University and worked with Dr. Mahmoud El-Halwagi in the area of process integration. During his time there I maintained a Presidential Graduate Research Scholarship for his research achievements, and graduated with a M.S. in Chemical Engineering in 2002. After receiving my Master’s I went to Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where I worked for four (4) years as a Research Associate in the NSERC Environmental Design Chair – Process Integration in the Pulp and Paper Industry with Dr. Paul Stuart and Dr. Marianthi Ierapetritou.

For the next ten (10) years, I worked in the Process Engineering Group of the Process Plants Business Unit at Wood Group Mustang that is managed by Ed Palmer, where I was a Senior Process Consultant.   During my tenure at Wood Group Mustang, I was a nominee for Wood Group Mustang President Safety Award. Currently, I work as a Process Technologist at IAG on the Project Development team lead by Gene Cotton. I have worked on multiple complex projects from both a technical and project execution point of view, which have been in the areas of  refining, petrochemical, and syngas conversion. In 2008, I became a Professional Engineer in Texas.

I am currently the 2nd Vice Chair for the Fuels and Petrochemical Division (F&PD).  I also serve F&PD as the Refining Area (T7) Programming Chair for the National Spring Meeting.  I remain active with my local section (South Texas) be serving as the overall conference Co-Chair for the Southwest Process Technology Conference (SPTC) which I have done since 2013. I also serve AIChE at the national level as a Director for the Executive Board Programming Committee (EBPC).
