
Hugh Robinson is a Station Officer with Fire + Rescue NSW based in Newcastle, with 16 years operational experience. Having previously completed a Chemical Engineering degree at Sydney University, Hugh was recruited as a subject matter expert (SME) for the Fire + Rescue NSW alternative energies workgroup, with a focus on hydrogen technologies and applications.
For the last year he has been working with Fire + Rescue NSW Operational Capability directorate to identify current and near future hydrogen applications within NSW, to classify the possible hazards and where required, develop specific risk management strategies, and associated organisational doctrine for them.
Hugh has also provided technical advice to the Australian and New Zealand National Council for fire and emergency services (AFAC) Hydrogen Emergency Responder Project.
