Hrvoje Štefančić

Hrvoje Štefančić holds position of Vice-Rector for International Relations at the Catholic University of Croatia and he is a Full Professor of physics at the same university.  In the period from 2012 to 2020 he held the position of Vice-Rector for Science at the Catholic University of Croatia. He was a recipient of the 2006 From Research to Eneterprise award from Central European Initiative for the participation in commercial development of the software based on the Robin Hood method.  Dr. Štefančić holds a Ph.D. in theoretical physics (2002), M.Sc. in physics (2000) and B.Sc. in physics (1996), all from Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, Croatia. His publications comprise over sixty peer-reviewed research articles. Dr. Štefančić is a member of Institute of Physics and Croatian Physical Society. His main research fields are physical cosmology and complex systems science. He is in particular interested in interdisciplinary applications of methods and approaches of theoretical physics. In the field of physical cosmology his research interests comprise problems of accelerated cosmic  expansion and related questions of dark energy, cosmological constant and vacuum energy, modifications of gravity at cosmological distances and unified models of dark matter and dark energy. In the field of complex systems, his main research interests are structure and dynamics of complex networks and spreading processes on complex networks.
