Guofu Chen, P.E., is a senior process engineer at Enerflex Energy Systems (10815 Telge Rd, Houston, TX 77095; Phone: (832) 230-9936; Email: gchen@enerflex.com). He has published and presented several papers on pressure relief valves, organic rankine cycle, natural gas liquids, and liquefied natural gas. Chen developed rigorous steady-state process models to predict the performance of gas processing plants with existing unit operations such as exchangers, towers, compressors, expanders, and control valves. He also used dynamic simulation to validate process control, optimize existing plants’ performance, and train operators. Chen earned his BS in mechanical engineering from Zhejiang Univ., China. He is a licensed professional chemical engineer and professional mechanical engineer in Texas and Louisiana.
