Gregory Sayles is the Director of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s National Homeland Security Research Center. The Center conducts research and develops technologies that enhances EPA, state and local capabilities to prepare for and respond to environmental emergencies, including acts of terrorism, thereby enhancing the resiliency of communities.  The Center’s efforts are focused on building scientific tools, data and models to help decision makers address wide-area decontamination and water system protection and cleanup.  Dr. Sayles brings more than 28 years of experience in hands-on research, planning, and management to this position.  Greg earned Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral degrees in Chemical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology, the University of California at Davis, and North Carolina State University, respectively.
