Greg Mehos, PhD, (4 Crusade Rd., Westford, MA 01886; Phone: 978-799-7311; Email: gmehos@uri.edu) is an adjunct professor at the Univ. of Rhode Island and a consultant specializing in the storage, handling, and processing of bulk solids. He has worked as a project engineer at Jenike & Johanson and as a process development engineer at Cabot Corp. He received a BS and PhD in chemical engineering from the Univ. of Colorado, and a master’s degree from the Univ. of Delaware. He is a registered professional engineer in Massachusetts and a member of AIChE. He served on the executive board of AIChE’s Particle Technology Forum and is a past chair of the Boston Local Section. He is the author of the section on powder flow and hopper design in the 9th edition of Perry’s Chemical Engineers’ Handbook.
