Dr. Girish Gopal is Director of R&D at Elevated Materials and a leader in electrochemistry, energy storage, and lithium metal battery. With more than 20 years of experience, he has studied technologies such as pre-lithiation, lithium metal anodes, and fluorinated salts for advanced lithium-metal systems. He currently collaborates U.S. government–funded programs, National Laboratories, university R&D engagements, technology roadmaps, and global partnerships with cell manufacturers. Previously, he held R&D leadership roles at Applied Materials, IBM Research, and Air Products and Chemicals, where he contributed to the development of lithium metal, lithium-ion batteries, electrolytes, and interface engineering. Dr. Gopalakrishnan earned his Ph.D. in electrochemistry from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
