Francesco Marra has a PhD in chemical engineering and is an associate professor of chemical and food engineering, University of Salerno, Italy. His research focuses on the virtualization of food processes and modeling of transport phenomena in a multiphysics context and the engineering of innovative prototypes for food processing. He has authored over 90 scientific papers published in international journals, books, and international conferences. A member of the editorial board for the _Journal of Food Engineering_, he recently served as guest editor of a special issue called ”Virtualization of Processes in Food Engineering”. He is a member of the executive committee for the Society of Food Engineering (SoFE).
