Fang Dai is the Lab Group Manager of the Energy Storage Materials team at General Motors, leading the development of advanced battery components within the Battery R&D organization. He earned his Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Delaware in 2012 and began his career at GM shortly thereafter. Fang’s team focuses on the development of next-generation anode materials, including silicon-based active materials, as well as battery cell design and integration. In addition to internal R&D efforts, his team supports GM’s engineering and venture organizations by evaluating and translating new battery cell technologies from external suppliers through rigorous validation and technical analysis.
