Erika Peterman has had a long and successful career in the chemicals industry, spanning over 25 years She held various technical and commercial roles throughout her career, including as a manufacturing process engineer in BASF TOTAL’s joint venture petrochemicals facility in Port Arthur, TX . After roles of progressively more responsibility at that facility and in Houston, she transferred to New Jersey to join BASF’s Performance Chemicals business in 2007 as product manager. After BASF’s 2008 acquisition of Ciba, Erika accepted an international strategic marketing assignment to craft the global business strategy for the Effect Pigments business. She was appointed Vice President of Global Marketing for Pigments and Performance Additives in 2011. In total, she spent four and a half years in Europe, split between the company’s world headquarters in Ludwigshafen, Germany, and Basel, Switzerland . Erika returned to the US and moved into Business Management in early 2014. In that role, she led sales, marketing, and technical service activities for the Performance Materials Construction business across the region. While in this role, Erika focused on the importance of resiliency in construction through the education of stakeholders, supporting new business models and fostering partnerships in the industry. She took over the general management of the North American Chemical Intermediates business in July 2019 .

Erika has recently taken on a new role as Senior Vice President of Global I&D Manufacturing & Oxyfuels at LyondellBasell, a multinational chemical company In this role, she is responsible for leading the company’s global manufacturing and oxyfuels businesses

In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors, fitness, and travelling to visit family in various parts of the world together with her husband and two sons.
