Elizabeth R. Nesbitt, a Senior International Trade Analyst at the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC), follows trade and competitiveness issues related to pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and nanotechnology. She has been a project leader and/or major author on a wide variety of USITC reports, addressing topics ranging from industrial biotechnology to SMEs to prescription drug pricing, as well as the author of articles on bioproducts, the circular economy, and pharmaceuticals. She has made multiple presentations as an invited speaker, addressing these topics and others.
Ms. Nesbitt’s numerous professional awards include the USITC’s Distinguished Service Award in 2012 and, from the Association of Women in International Trade (WIIT), Outstanding WIIT Member of the Year in 2004 and the WIIT Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. She earned a B.S. in chemistry and an M.S. in chemical engineering from Manhattan College. She is active (including as a Board member) in several organizations, particularly those promoting STEM education. Ms. Nesbitt is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Chemical Society, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the New York Academy of Sciences, Sigma Xi, and WIIT, among others.
