Post-Doctoral Research Fellow
Northwestern-Argonne Institute of Science and Engineering

Doris Oke earned her Master’s and PhD Degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. She joined the Northwestern-Argonne Institute of Science and Engineering in 2020 as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow. Her research focuses on analyzing systems-level energy and environmental benefits of co-optimization of liquid fuels and engines in the light-duty and heavy-duty sectors. She investigates how this approach to reducing energy consumption and emissions in transportation is complementary to the electrification of light- and heavy-duty vehicles. Her other research interest is developing continuous-time frameworks for the synthesis of batch plants and process integration techniques for integrated water and membrane network systems. She applies continuous-time frameworks for scheduling of batch processes and simultaneous water and energy optimization in process industries using mathematical modelling approach.
