Deepti Salvi Deepti Salvi, PhD, is an assistant research professor in the Dept. of Food Science at Rutgers Univ. (Email: email@example.com). She received a BTech in agricultural engineering from DBS Konkan Agricultural Univ. in India, an MS in food engineering and bioprocess technology from Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand, and a PhD in biological and food engineering from Louisiana State Univ. She previously worked as postdoctoral researcher at the Audubon Sugar Research Institute in Louisiana. Currently at Rutgers Univ., she is working on a U.S. Dept. of Agriculture (USDA)-funded project in collaboration with researchers at the Univ. of California, Davis, Univ. of Maryland, and Drexel Univ. on developing an integrated approach to eliminate post-harvest cross-contamination of fresh produce. Her research is focused on numerical modeling of bacteria-produce interaction, numerical modeling of transport phenomena in human digestion, and development of thermal and nonthermal food processing technologies.
