Courtney Pfluger, PhD, is a professor in chemical engineering and holds a joint appointment in the Sherman Center for Engineering Entrepreneurship at Northeastern Univ. (360 Huntington Ave., Boston, MA, 02115, Email: c.pfluger@northeastern.edu). She completed her PhD in chemical engineering from Northeastern Univ. As a teaching professor at Northeastern, she helped redesign and pilot the first-year cornerstones in the engineering curriculum, developed an innovation-driven chemical engineering capstone design course, and created and ran a faculty-led sustainability energy program in Brazil for 11 years. She won the AIChE Innovation in ChE Education Award, Northeastern’s Global Educator Award, the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Best PIC-V paper on Inclusive Teamwork, and numerous other teaching awards. She aims to foster sustainability-focused engineering entrepreneurship, create educational opportunities for acquiring global competencies and social responsibility, and continue researching the most effective ways of developing inclusive teamwork environments.
