Chris Pope holds a B.S.Ch.E. from Northwestern plus S.M. and Ph.D degrees in Chemical Engineering from MIT. His research expertise is in the "energy and environment" area, including applied chemical kinetics and the chemistry of pollutant formation in combustion, with an emphasis on PAH and soot formation; his ongoing research is on estimation and calculation of properties of PAH and fullerenes. Currently a student at Cabrillo College, he will complete an A.S. in Computer Science this spring. He is an author of fourteen refereed journal articles (first author on nine), plus 33 conference contributions. Founder and chair of AIChE's Chem.E.'s with Disabilities (ChEwD) Task Force, he is also a member of the Societal Impact Operating Council.
