
Chris is a chemical engineer with 45 years’ experience in the energy industry, particularly gas, gained while working for AGL and Jemena. A significant part of this experience has been with gas and pipelines, in corporate, technical, commercial, general management and regulatory roles. He has been a self-employed consultant since September 2008 and has been the architect and project manager for the Australian Pipelines and Gas Association’s Pipeline Engineering Competency System (PECS) which was completed in 2016. Since then he has continued to support the ongoing maintenance and development of the Competency System as Chair of the committee responsible for the PECS and is has been involved promoting its use within and outside Australia. Since 2023 Chris has been chairing and project managing the development of a competency framework for hydrogen engineers as part of the establishment of Engineers Australia’s Hydrogen Engineering area of practice.
