Among his several roles, Cal is an expert on geoscience and Hydraulic Fracturing, and has provided expert testimony the US Senate Committee on Water and Power, and the US House of Representatives Committee on Science, Space and Technology and also served as Theme Lead for the Chemicals section of the US EPA Technical Workshop on Hydraulic Fracturing. Much of his current work focuses on water sourcing and treatment technologies to condition water for HF. He previously managed Apache’s worldwide greenhouse gas and environmental technology programs. Prior to joining Apache, he was a corporate Science Fellow and geoscience technology manager at a major oil company. Over the years he has served on the boards of many international science organizations. Cal earned a Ph.D. from Rice University.
